SS INTERLEAGUE RULES

To ensure that interleague participation by Straightshots is organised to an acceptable level of competence, we have a set of important Rules. Being a member of SS-IL means that you must comply with the following Rules, so please read them thoroughly.

1. Commitment to SS

a) A player representing Straightshots (hereafter called SS) in interleagues should ideally refrain from playing for another league against SS in any interleague competition.

2. Signing Up and Eligibility
a) When signing up for an interleague competition, a player must use his or her SS league screen name, with ss_ infront of it on the appropriate interleague website. For example, if the player's SS league
screen name is an.other_123 his or her interleague screen name must be ss_an.other_123.
b) It is a player's responsibility to ensure that his or her league
screen name matches his interleague screen name at all times. If a player plays on an incorrect screen name, for any reason, he or she may be suspended, or removed, from the interleague team.
c)
It is a player's responsibility to ensure that he or she has played the minimum number of SS games required to be eligible in an interleague competition, and also to be active within SS by playing the required number of games. Failure to be eligible would make the player liable to be disqualified, and possibly removed from the team.

3. Confirmation
a) When invited to take part in any interleague competition, a player must confirm that he or she can play or not play. This must be done as soon as possible to one of the Coordinators via Yahoo Messenger or MSN, or to a supervising Captain or Co-Captain if applicable.
b) A player who fails to respond promptly, or by the time stipulated, will be replaced under normal circumstances.

4. Check-In and Punctuality
a) For any competitions requiring check-in, a player must check-in on the day of the tournament and not any earlier, unless asked to do so. A player must check-in and be present in the designated room no later than 15 minutes before the start.
b) A player who fails to check-in by the time stipulated will be replaced under normal circumstances.
c) A player must be in in the designated room no later than 15 minutes before the start. 14 minutes or less is deemed to be LATE.
d) A player who arrives late will be replaced under normal circumstances and there will be no argument. Late = replaced!

5. Stay And Play
a) In any competition consisting of rounds, there is a strict 'stay and play' policy. Once a player has jumped a tournament, he or she must play every round to the finish.
b) If a player is unable to stay and complete a tournament, he or she must inform the Coordinator on duty, or supervising Captain or Co-Captain if applicable, immediately.
c) A player who fails to stay for the entire competition without justifiable explanation will be suspended, or removed, from the team. This applies to any player who loses in early rounds and then asks to be removed from the tournament. This is
strictly not permitted and any offender may forfeit his or her place within SS-IL.

6. Timers
a) In any SS v SS interleague game, neither player may request a timer on his opponent, unless he or she knows for certain that the player will not be returning

b) Should the tournament need to be advanced, then the supervising Captain or Co-Captain will make a decision as to whether the timer should be apply in any SS v SS game.
c) If a player applies a timer unfairly on any fellow SS opponent, for any reason, he or she may be suspended, or removed, from the team.

7. Reporting Losses
a) In any competition requiring reporting of losses, a player must report a loss immediately on the appropriate website, using the report link present.
b) It is a player's responsibility to ensure that he or she has reported any loss at all times. If a player fails to report, for any reason, he or she may be suspended, or removed, from the team.

8. Recording Games
a) Where any competition stipulates the use of Camtasia or a similar recording program ('Cam') to record an interleague game, it is the responsibility of a player to ensure that his or her recording program is set up properly in compliance with any guidelines, requirements or rules.
b) Failing to follow the competition requirements may lead to a player having his game overturned if won. In such a case, if the player knowingly failed to set up his or her Cam program as directed, which is an act of negligence and irresponsibility towards the team,
he or she may be suspended, or removed, from the team.
c) In interleague competitions where
the use of Camtasia or a similar recording program is not required, the general policy is for a player to never ask an opponent to use Cam, and to decline any invite to use Cam as well. If a player fails to respect this Rule and then a problem subsequently arises which is unbeneficial to the SS team, he or she may be suspended, or removed, from the team.

9. Behaviour and Sportsmanship
a)
Representing SS is an honour and privilege, and any form of poor behaviour will not be tolerated. A player, or any other non-playing member representing SS, must conduct his or herself in a sporting manner at all times, including game etiquette (‘GL’ and ‘GG’), and must refrain from any form of bad sportsmanship or unacceptable behaviour in any designated interleague room, or in a rival league's home room, or at a pool table in any room.
b) Any form of abuse, gamesmanship, goading, harrassment, intimidation, provocation, or any form of unacceptable or unsporting behaviour, including making aimer accusations, is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
c) During any interleague match or tournament, if an issue needs to be addressed in the lobby or at the table, the Captain, and/or Co-Captain, will deal with it. Any other SS player who chips in with provocative or inappropriate comments runs the risk of being openly reprimanded in front of everyone, or booted from the table, and/or may face suspension from the team.
d)

b) By joining any SS interleague team, each member will be deemed to have given his or her assent to these Rules and agree to abide by the decisions of the Coordinator
s
