THE SS CAM CUP

Formerly one of the top Yahoo Pool cam competitions, the SS Cam Cup has been popular in All Mixed Up for several years now. It

 developed into one of the major individual cam competitions in Yahoo Pool, attracting players from many other leagues who would not otherwise necessarily be members of Straightshots by choice! 

The SS Cam Cup was initially arranged by Jonathan (crazy_canuck) using a website page designed by Laura, the former SS Head Admin, and Jonathan ran it with the help of Steven (steven.rules) for the opening six competitions before Nish (xlx_nish_xlx) took over for one season. For the first eight Cam Cup competitions, there was only one tournament but it was then split into two divisions for Competition 9 and thereafter. Division A was for the experienced so-called 'top-knotch' poolers – those who would have been playing in the top interleagues and other cam competitions – whilst Division B attracted other players who may not have been considered to be at the same top level, although some Div. B players moved up to join Division A and certainly did not look out of place.  

After Nish's involvement, Jonathan resumed running the SS Cam Cup from Season 8 onwards and carried on doing it until Season 15, a total of eight Cam Cup seasons. In 2012, SS Co-HA Nigel (en_dk) took over running the SS Cam Cup in mid-2012, with one of the League's longest-serving members, namely Marie (milly_molly03), assisting. Nigel revitalised the competition with a new website and a new format and Division A and B were renamed The Gold Conference and The Silver Conference respectively. And a third tournament, called The Bronze Conference, was formed and run as a 'Consolation Plate' competition for group stage non-qualifiers from the other two Conferences. 

The SS Cam Cup has always been one of the top individual pool events around, second only to the prestigious 8BR which is widely considered to be the best individual cam competition.
